The dog need NOT know what the desired behavior is in all cases before pressing the button.Deer chasing is an excellent example of this type of e-collar work.It IS a "shortcut" and it works,altho it may take more than one lesson.You must bide your time,and never press the button unless you know what the dog is doing.This type of avoidance training (deer,snakes,etc) generally calls for the higher voltage settings.....Yip!Yip! Yip!Chasin' deer sure is fun!Yip,Yip,....YIIIPE!I'm goin'back to dad,I didn't know deer could do that!
