Ruptured stomachs are usually more complicated than just gorging.
Conditions such as anterior enteritis that reverse the fluid flow in the
small bowel so that fluid is drawn into the gut from the bloodstream can
cause enough reflux into the stomach to cause rupture.  An obstruction of
the small bowel can do the same thing.
