The injured mare I handwalked for 5 months, used to stop and eat/lick a patch of dirt/algea in a moist spot. This horse had the best of everything, all the suppliments in the world, and treats, go figure. Laurie/Rascal/Honey/Scout

but when we got back to the ranch and i put vashka out to pasture with a nice
big pad of hay, vashka opted for a patch of black dirt instead.
