When Halynov got a quarter crack and was going stall/paddock crazy, we 
swam him at the equine pool next door--- he LOVED it! We had a hard time 
getting him out of the pool!
We also took some of his babies in--- they were not wild about the idea 
at first, but once they realized what the routine was, they also loved it.
My daughters used to take our geldings down to the lake on our property 
and they'd swim them--- great way to cool off on a hot day.
Wish we still were near the pool or had the lake--- it was 105 here 
yesterday (and I think that was in the shade!!!!)
