[RC] Anyone willing to lend me an "S" Hackamore to try? - sharon1359

Hi,

I used to trail ride with just a rope "hackamore" (really just a rope halter
with reins and leadrope attached), but Zephyr acts differently in a competitive
situation than he does with a group of friends. Even if it's 30 people on an
organized ride. I've been using a normal bit on all my competitive rides since
the first... the first ride being an ill-fated attempt at using a sidepull.
(D'OH!)

I am interested in going back to a hackamore so he can eat better on trail, but
want something with more bite than the rope hackamore has. Am considering
an "S" Hack but I have a problem. I don't know if I can still get him to gait
in an S Hack. He does it OK in the rope hack, but even a slight difference in
how it works on his head could throw him off. And I don't want to buy one
before I know if he'll gait in it. We can cover a lot of miles at a gait, and
I don't want to lose that.

Anyone have an "S" hack languishing around that I could borrow? All I need to
do is ride a few times in it, and I'll know if I want to buy one.

By the way, I'll be at the Pine Tree this weekend, so if anyone has one who is
coming, I could get it from you then. ;)

Thanks!!
-Sharon Kenney & Zephyr's Elegant Gift (who likes to eat on trail and would be
forever grateful to you!)
