RE: [RC] grass clippings - Jerry & Susan Milam

I've been wanting to sickle cut grass and put them in my trailer hay bag for munching on longer trailer trips instead of feeding wet hay. It would be loose grass in an open container hay mesh bag. I wouldn't think it would sour any in an open bag. That way they would have the natural moisture content of the grass and stay better hydrated while trailering.

Subject: [RC] grass clippings

I greenchop (direct cut chopper to self unloading wagon to piles in the paddocks) third cutting alfalfa and grass for 40+ horses every fall between September and December. Never had a problem. I can't think grass clippings would be much different as long as they are fresh.  L.
