[RC] human electrolytes, vet phobia & Ft. Howes. - bekosso

Hi All: Thought I'd slip out of lurkdom for a minute with a one-hit wonder: a
one-post-does all.

1. Vet phobia: There is a great deal of evidence to suggest that our fellow
mammals, especially cats and dogs, are highly sensitive to the auras of other
critters. I think there are vets and farriers out there who are genuinely afraid
of horses, and the resulting defensiveness and distrust shows in their auras.
This causes panic in the horses they treat and enforces the vets' own phobias.
2. Fort Howes: Congratulations to Val and Myna on a well-rode ride under
gruelling conditions. I was crewing for a couple of other Canadians and didn't
see you finished, but "watched" from afar throughout the day. Further, thanks to
Steve Rojek for being one of the most sweetly natured riders I have met in more
than a decade of endurance.
3. Human electrolytes: I like beer. No sugar, lotsa vitamin B and a little
protein along with all the other ingredients necessary to combat heat. In
general, I like one beer (@ 5% alchohol) for every 30 minutes at each vet
check.

Cheers and Happy Summer

Brenda Kossowan
