[RC] Ceramic Squirrels and Western Saddles - Magnumsmom

If any ride manager out there hands out hand
painted ceramic squirrels as completion awards,
make sure to post it on Ridecamp, 'cuz I'm There!

I'd rather have a hand painted ceramic squirrel than
a stupid...
...
...
... wait a minute. I've never seen a stupid completion
award. I've loved them all! Nothing like a 13 year
endurance drought to remind me to savor every ride.

As for thinking you'd be laughed at for showing up
in a western saddle, never. No endurance rider ever
laughs at any saddle that fits the horse.

Speaking of getting laughed at though, at my first
50 since 1982 I wore... JEANS! Well, I'd done my
other 3 50's in jeans along with every other endurance
rider at the time (and taken the hide off the inside
of my knees, but I'd forgot that part). :)

Maryben either forgot to laugh or was being nice.
She probably forgot. ;-)

She did, however, laugh when I told her I'd bought
a TB and an ex-racer at that. I believe she said
something like "Why would you want to buy a TB?"
and I said "Because he's cute". Fortunately, Becky
Hart concurred that being cute is a great reason
to buy a horse.

Just go, enjoy your horse and the day, and have a
great ride!

...OK, so I'm riding an Arab now, but he's cute too!
