Re: [RC] [RC] NEW SURVEY QUESTION - Teri Hunter

The polls are asking the questions for the present. If you rode your
present horse at the age of 4, 5 years ago, then no, you would not have
voted at the 4 yo. But you would vote for the present poll that is up as a
9 yo.

If you make it simple and use present tense it is easier to understand. I
do apologize for not making it clearer. Durin the present ride season what
age of horse do you ride. I guess that sounds better.

Okay, I never did vote in the LD one, because I thought it was primarily
for
people who mainly did LD. Now this one comes up just for 50+. What about
those of us who do both?
I started my mare in 25's when she was four. Now she's 9. We didn't ride
at
all for 4 months, so I started our season with 2 25's. If I had a 4 yr old
to start, I'd ride it in LD. How in the heck would I answer to give the
poll
any meaning? If I had said I ride a 9 year old in LD, that would be true,
but I also ride 4 year olds in it when I have them. Now, I ride a 9 year
old
in 50's, but I started her in them when she was 5 & I think that's okay
too.
Whatever answers you get are only going to be true for the time period
during which they were taken. It would really get interesting if you
posted
the same list of polls every year and compared 5-10 years. Maybe you could
do something along the lines of "what distance and age horse where you
riding in '95, '96 ...2003 and draw 8 years of stats to look at?
