[RC] re:distance judging - kaaren lebert

Our club has a problem and although it is not directly endurance related it is distance riding related and I knew this was the place to get suggestions.

We are a relativly small club covering 3 provinces but with a membership of approximately less that 50. We sanction judged pleasure and competitive trail rides and use AERC for our endurance rides.

The problem is this: because there are so few of us there are also very few people qualified to judge our rides (the JP's and CTR's). WE are finding the judges we do get (usually show people) are confusing the horses and docking points for things against the wrong horse and rider, even though all horses have numbers on their butts.

I am trying tocome up with a solution to this and related problems, any help- things that work for other clubs would be greatly appreciated.(Perhaps keeping score sheet with rider as we do in endurance, but what about marking stabling which we are also judged on.)

 Thanks,Kaaren
