No retention of placenta...normal foaling...always have vet out right
after delivery to check mare and foal and she gave everyone the OK.


Good, then you are not apt to have other complications relative to
laminitis.  Nonetheless, there can still be enough stress at foaling to
cause sufficient coronary band disruption to cause a ring in the hoof. 
Just like horses that get a ring from every endurance ride....
