[RC] obsession - Jonni Jewell

Anytime someone pets or gives the donkey any attention,my horse runs the
fence line belting out this noise-not unlike a horse with seperation
anxioty.I can't understand this sence the two have never been put together
in the same area. My horse foaled twice in the distant past, she is also the
same color as the donkey-black,but I don't think thats the reason. This
obsession is not just when she comes into heat eaither, it's not something
I'm worried about-just wondering about! <<<<

I would be worried and concerned about it. My concern would be that the mare
may try to chase a person away from her new best friend, or actually "go
after" a person she want to have leave the donkey. And saying "she would
never do that", won't wash. She is showing you some new to you behavior with
her attitude to this donkey, so she could do all kinds of things she has
never done before. I would make sure she can not get directly to who ever
might be giving the donkey attention.
