[RC] obsession - susan grahamHello, I have a horse issue that maby someone can give me and anwser on. My horse is a 15 yearold mare NSH who is pasture boarded with other mares,she has everything she needs and the facility is very clean. However in the past few months the owner of the farm had purchaced a female donkey who stays outside in the paddock next to the mares pasture,my horse has taken on a obsesson about her! Anytime someone pets or gives the donkey any attention,my horse runs the fence line belting out this noise-not unlike a horse with seperation anxioty.I can't understand this sence the two have never been put together in the same area. My horse foaled twice in the distant past,she is also the same color as the donkey-black,but I don't think thats the reason.This obsession is not just when she comes into heat eaither, it's not something I'm worried about-just wondering about!
