[RC] proud flesh - Jonni Jewell

She has a lot of scar tissue and proud flesh. So far it has not broken
open but the vet said that can be a problem with old wounds like this. <<<

In my experience, proud flesh will have a scab, and not be healed over. Is
it indeed proud flesh? Or just scar tissue. There are MANY treatments for
proud flesh. Most of us have our favorites. My last horse leg wound, I tried
Tree Tea Oil. Had not tried it on the horse before. It seemed to work well,
and healed a touch better than the other horses leg wound that was treated
with Wonder Dust. Tree Tea oil would soften the scar, and add healing
properties, even if it is not true proud flesh.
