[RC] rain rot.... once again - A. Perez

We've had record rain fall this spring here on the east coast,
so I guess it is no surprise my horse now has a rip-roaring case
of rain-rot. I've read the archives, called my vet, and am
going to try betadine scrub and derma-cloths. All the sites I
read said lack of oxygen is a promoting factor. Would hydrogen
peroxide be useful, or is it'd effect to short-lasting? Also,
since I field-board, would a rain-proof blacket help (by keeping
him drier) or hurt (by blocking air-flow)?
And lastly, some of you mentioned a possible link with selenium
deficiency: what selenium/vitimin E supplements are recommended?
I have not been able to find any specific information on
selenium in our area, but have read that in general the
north-east is low.

Thanks
