[RC] rabies - LRN8554

My vet had his first case ever of rabies in a horse. Pretty
interesting, the horse was trying to bite everyone before he went down
and had been
chasing all the other horses where he was pastured. The horse had been
hauled in from Northwest Georgia and we live in Cleveland, Tennessee which is
about
30 miles Northeast of Chattanooga. I hope it doesn't
transmit easily because I wonder about those other horses. Our vet
and his
helper had to have the shots. The first cost $3400. each and follow ups
$700.
They didn't get bitten but had been working in his mouth. The horse
died in
transit to University of Tennessee. Linda Norton
