In one way or another I always get something out of going. If I don't complete a t-shirt that reminds me of that day every time I look at it won't make me feel any better and not getting it makes me twice as determined to do it right next time. >> What a succinct and wonderful post. I could not agree more. The more our society awards failure out of some strange concern for "self-esteem" or compassion for the "effort," the less valuable, honored, and respected actual accomplishments become. I don't think anyone in this sport competes in order to obtain a T-shirt. :o) But it is a badge of honor to be worn proudly on another day and a reminder of the accomplishment. Unless it is given to everyone who shows up - then it is nothing more than a cheap souvenier. :o) Scott =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
