Re: [RC] Center Fired Rigging. - KathyZ1

I have a broad, flat backed mare with VERY well sprung ribs.
She was EXTREMELY cinchy with any saddle with regular rigging.  Since I've been using a saddle with center fire rigging the problem has virtually vanished.
The rigging does NOT pull the saddle forward even tho she has a large barrel.  She does, however have very good withers which I'm sure help.
At any rate, I'm very glad that I switched to center fire.
So is my mare.

Someone asked:

Can anyone explain the purpose, pro's and/or cons of Center Fire riging?
I've just purchased (but have not yet received) a saddle with center fire
rigging for my young Paso.  One of my stablemates says that it could pull
the saddle forward onto the shoulders, which would not be desirable for a
gaited horse.
