I had a crew-cab dually with 8' bed years ago.  Manuevering in tight
places was rather a bit of a challenge.

When we bought our truck and gooseneck trailer last year, my
requirements for the truck were "super" cab (extended, not full crew
cab), and short bed (also turbo deisel and 4WD).  For the trailer, a
tapered gooseneck.  The amount of taper is mild (it's a featherlite
w/camper conversion), but that's plenty to keep us clear on even the
sharpest turns.  No part of the trailer comes close to the cab at any
amount of turn up to a full ninety degrees between truck and trailer.

With a full eight-foot-wide, square-nosed trailer, we'd have a
problem.  Although there are offset hitches that can alleviate that
somewhat.

The high bed, due to having four-wheel-drive, is more of a problem.
Our clearance between bed and the bottom of the gooseneck is marginal,
we have to be careful when off-road.
