Re: [RC] [RC] high strung mare - Laurie DurginMan,that's surely it. She's waiting to get spurred!!!My old saddle club had speed aevents, the horses would break a sweat, rear, jig, act like nervous wrecks(escept a few). and they'd stop allot of them by running them into the fence. This is of course is not professionals , just a county/regional saddle club organization. She is probably waiting for the starting gun. She needs to learn to just "hng out" with you and relax. Go back to basicsand take some "hike" together and stopa dn graxe or eat carrots. Was she vetted? She may also have hock/stiffle damage. Alot of arenas have huge amounts of sand, and if they are ridden in one type of terrain, say dirt, thenm run in those deep sand arenas, it can cause some damage. my friends App. got hock damgage, after she started doing speed events with him in heavy sand, but at home only worked on a dirt ring. Best wishes, keep us updated.Laurie and Rascal(who thinks he'd be a great reining horse the way he can spin on a dime:}From: Ed Kilpatrick <whytrotfarms@xxxxxxxxx> To: ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [RC] high strung mare Date: Mon, 12 May 2003 19:56:16 -0700 (PDT) _________________________________________________________________ Add photos to your e-mail with MSN 8.
