[RC] Towing with a Bronco - Carolyn Burgess

My experience towing with a Bronco is limited to my son's experience. Last summer he bought a 1986 Bronco, reconditioned it and drove from Boston to Bozeman, Montana towing a 20' camper. The truck did great, had some problems, but they were related to age of the Bronco, not any inherent problems towing with that vehicle. It is not a perfect towing vehicle. A truck with a longer wheel base would be better, but sometimes finances don't allow us to get what we would really like to.

One note on towing - slow down. I have noticed this with many people who tow and they tend to go too fast. Even though my truck is very capable of towing our 22' gooseneck down the highway at 75 mph, it is safer to go slower. And leave plenty of room between you and anything else. I have seen two horse trailer rollovers (both trailers were empty) and they were both on the highway and the drivers going way too fast.
