A chiro has a place in health care but can't perscribe and has limited medical training. An osteopath is also my preference as well. AND, a D.O. can do OMT (osteo manulaptive therapy). A chiro does a scaled-down version of OMT. I've seen a good D.O. put things straight; the patient received immediate results. After a nasty fall, a D.O. performed OMT on me and worked wonders. I still had a concussion, broken pelvis, and torn rotary cuff. However, I felt better and healed quicker.
