Re: [RC] tornados - Truman PrevattI remember as a kid on the border of Western Tennessee and Western Kentucky, near where LBL is now watching the tornados "play in the sky" this time of the year. Hell, as a dumb kid we use to race them. But they are no joke - anything that can twist apart a healthy tree three feet across is no joke.I also remember the erie silence right before the storm hit. Every thing would shut down, the birds would stop singing and everything was deathly still. The calm before the storm doesn't really describe it very well. From mid April till mid June was "the season." The house I grew up in was flattened some years back, as was the barn just North of it, the stables just Northwest of it and the smokehouse just outside the kitchen door by a twister. Thank goodness my grandmother - who lived there at the time was unhurt. You guys are in my thoughts. Truman Kat Forst wrote: I am on Martin, TN! We had about 3 or 4 tornados hit us within 2 hrs. I was at work when it hit, around 9:30 pm sunday night.
