[RC] Ticks and Horses - Val Nicoson

My mare is on pasture 24/7 with some wooded areas. We
also live in the buggy midwest with our fair share of
ticks in the woods and such.
What do others do for their horses in regards to
ticks? Do you do a tick check every day, couple times
a week or simply not worry too much about it? Do you
use any kind of tick repellent at all and if so what
do you use?
Am trying to stay with natural repellents if possible,
if any exists. Do not like to get that fly spray all
over my mare or the overspray on myself for that
Already getting buggy in the midwest,
Val +
Sania (with several tiny patches of yellow crusty
stuff deep in the mane and tail where ticks have been)
