It does always seem strange the the best completion rates are on the
hottest, toughest, muddiest, etc.... rides. I think it's cuz the vets
threaten us to within an inch our lives at the ride meeting on those 
rides :)

Million Pines for instance seems like an "easy" trail. Sandy firm pack
roads. No rocks. Not that much deep sand even the 2nd time around, but
the completion rate would make you think it was Tevis. In contrast, last
week in the mud 31 out of 31 entries in the 25 miler at LBL finished. I
think 31 out of 41 or something like that finished in the 50 which seemed
awfully high to me considering the depth of the mud I saw (and the vets
were good and plenty capable of seeing lameness).
