Want to learn and practice the ins and outs of an endurance
ride?
Bring your horse and be ready to ride through the Sierra
National Forest and trails of the "Run for the Gold" endurance ride put on
annually in June by the Mountain Riders. Get some "hooves-on" experience
with this exciting sport and learn in a relaxed atmosphere. There will be
technical advice as well as veterinary advice available as we take you through a
pre-marked 10-12 mile course. Bring a sack lunch to enjoy at trail's end
and be prepared to ask questions and learn how to take your horse's pulse and
respiration. The clinic will also cover map reading, in hand
veterinary inspections, on trail check point protocol, and even outfitting
for you and your horse.
There is no charge for this experience.
The Endurance Ride Clinic will be conducted on
May 17, 2003 at the Circle 9 Ranch in Mariposa. Start
