Re: [RC] sleeping - Charles

I find sugar loading and crashing does the trick for me.  When I can't sleep, I either read a dull book, (something about laying still does it) or I get a glass of warm milk with sugar and vanilla.  The milk drink causes a sugar rush and then I crash big time and fall asleep.

PS: Do you think this may be the real reason Marathon runners ate tons of pasta the night before the race?  The carbo rush and resulting crash let them sleep?

Subject: [RC] sleeping

Any tricks to getting some sleep the night before a ride for someone who cannot take any prescription sleeping pills (narcotics allergy)? I just get too amped up to sleep and makes it hard to ride all the next day. The noise doesn't bother me, its my brain keeping me awake. Anything natural out there that does the trick?
