[RC] help, i tired of my horse spooking - Ed Kilpatrick

hi jennifer,  it is a frustrating thing, isnt it?  learn how to get the  horse to flex and release from the ground, then from the saddle.  then you can get him to do one rein stops. with the one rein stops,  you will be able to prevent him from dropping his shoulder and taking off with you.  work on it in the arena or round pen(or any enclosed space that you have to ride in),  then when you and he can both do it well,  do some trail work.  i used this method with a mare that would act silly,  rear up, refuse to cross water, etc.  now she is doing what i want her too.  it teaches them to calm down and think about whats going on around them.    ed
