Re: [RC] trax hoofpads - Charles

I use the hoof trax from Impact Gel
http://www.impactgel.com/horsetraxusa/index.html on my two drafts. They
held up for up to 10 weeks. The horse likes them. One of them ripped, but
that was over the winter when they were walking on ice. For the most part
the horses are in the field with a bit of time walking on dirt, grass, mud
and occasional concrete. The pads have held up for me and my horses. I
shoe on a 4 to 6 weeks schedule (one horse has ringbone, and I'm told it's
only a question of when for the other one).

My farrier likes the pad because they are thin under the shoe. They don't
change nailing or anything else.

Charles
PS: Thanks, I have to order more pads, I just ran out.

I asked that question a while ago and got no answer so would be interested
to hear about the Hoof Trax as well.

I'm needing to pad my horse for a multiday ride and need some info on the
kind
of pad to use. Has anyone tried trax pads? If so how did they work and
how
well did they hold up? I am also considering shock tamer pads. My
farrier
has these on hand. Thanks and happy trails, Kathy Crothers
