[RC] 50 Milers Advice - Stagg_Newman

Alicia asks:

Here is my question for all of you with more experience than me--
We are going to the Biltmore 50 and I was planning on doing the 2 day =
100 at Liberty Run and I just realized they are 2 weeks a part. I plan =
on a moderate or even slow pace. Is this asking to much of him???? =
Should I do just one day at Liberty instead of 2. Need advice!

Should not be a problem as long as you take the Biltmore ride moderately.
Let the horse tell you after each ride how he is doing. Check carefully
for any signs of heat or tenderness in legs that persists. Also talk about
your plan with the ride vets at Biltmore and ask them how the horse
is doing after the ride. Then do the same thing after the first day
of Liberty run.
