[RC] side halter rings - Jonni Jewell

On most standard nylon halters, the side rings are not made of the same
quality metal as the ring under the chin. They are kind of a "pot" metal,
and not solid brass or steel like the rings underneath. If you DO have a
horse that occasionally pulls back, and you are having faith in your halter
to not break, do not use the side rings to tie. I also do not use standard
trigger snaps any more. I always use bull snaps. Those triggers get caught
on buckets as a horse puts their head in, and releases the snap. Took me
awhile to figure out how my horse used to get loose.
