[RC] Reasons for leads with loops - Kristi Schaaf

Hi-
I noticed that someone was curious why anyone would
want a lead with a loop instead of a snap....I was the
original poster, and in my case, it's for a horse
that's being ponied. At a trot or even a good walk,
the lead snap swings back and forth from his rope
halter knot and can really whack his chin and jaw. I
hate to see him being "punished" for doing what he's
told...I also like the leads w/ loops for tieing to
the trailer - no snap for a bored horse to figure out
how to rub open, or, in the case of the Parelli type
snaps, for me to not get turned to closed all the way
(I've had both scenarios happen).
