Hi,
i am writing from dubai at the moment. the weather conditions on the ride day were undescribeible with 45 degree heat with at sand storm through out the whole day which was making cooling the horses down VERY difficult because water was drying as soon as you put it on the horse. There was only 16 finishers out of 120 starters, but i belive the finishes avaged out the speed at 21 km/h. and only 4 of these horses are from outside the uae (2 from usa and 2 from germany). We managed to get to the third vet gate but failed the representation with a heart rate of 68, but charlie has fully recovered today and he is ready to fly back on sunday morning.

Next bit of news, gleaned from Philip Hirsts sister, who is looking after
everything at home..

From what have heard recently, 120 horses started the race and last time I
heard anything only 23 were left in. I have also been told that the
leaders
finished a while ago, with the last loop being ridden at about 30km/hr
with
the last few kms being ridden at 50km/hr!!!!!

Philip has been spun at the third vet gate on pulse.
