[RC] Breeding and Bringing Up Baby - Tamara Taylor

Hello there,

Another option that you may want to consider is a PMU baby. There are a lot of
unwanted weanlings out there. I have bought 9 over the years and these horses
all turned out to be just fine. You still get the hands on of halter breaking
and all of my guys had great temperments once they came to realize humans
weren't scary monsters. You also get an idea of what you are getting into
instead of the 'wait-and-see" approach with breeding.

I understand the attraction to breeding your own baby and the excitement as
well. I've had both experiences and I'd have to say the PMU weanlings have
resulted in less heartache, hard work, money and disapointment than the
breeding experience. I honestly don't think I would consider breeding again
when I've had much better success finding the type of baby I wanted as a
weanling.

Just my $0.02.

Tamara
