[RC] [Guest] bloody nose - Ridecamp Guest

Hilga Höfkens

My mare has a little bit of blood coming out of der nose every now and then.
Mostly at very hot days and heavy training or big exitement (lots of
snorting and alike).
Had the vet look at it. He said it was a small bloodvessel sitting in the
mucous memrbrane that might bust every now and then due to high
bloodpressure or high airpressure (snorting).
It could be done away with by cauter...something (need a med. dictionary for
that) or I might as well just ignore it. As long as the horse does not loose
some amounts of blood it does not matter much.

Dont know about Cushings, but your bloody nose might be something like this
as well.

Happy Trails
(brrr, very cold here now)
Hilga
