Happy New Year! Boy, I'm glad for this thread! I was just thinking about my physical fitness myself. Why does a new year always get one thinking like that? lol...
One thing I learned this year is fitness for me. I labor a lot around my place caring and exercising my horses, and walk up and down my street (a three mile loop) but I'm realizing I don't feel as strong as I used to, bone wise. My daughter can knock me over with her finger if she wants to..When did this happen? Well, I'm in my forties now, guess bone density is an issue for us riders as well huh? Duh? I'm stupid!
Anyway, I have a couple of tapes that are real great for an aerobic workout. Its the "Gilad" tapes and his work outs are real good. I used to (see..."used to") do just a 1/2 hour of his tape and started feeling much stronger. But after we moved here, I stopped. Probably cause my horses live with us, and I start right in with the feeding, cleaning and the chores; whereas I used to feed and get my kids to school, do my exercise, THEN go to the barn to ride. So I think I have to reorganize my priorities! Feed horses, then exercise, then chores!!
Oh, back to the tape. Target has them and some other video places. Maybe even a barnes and noble. It a good workout because you can chose how long you work out if you have a busier day, plus it is filmed in Hawaii!! Beautiful background to get you thinking of spring and summer and sunshine! Helps out on gloomy, cloudy days!
I'd also like to find out what these "pilate" (sp?) are and where to get them. Are they rider specific? Hum..
We should have a "ridecamp" diet thread and see how we all do! Kinda keep each other accountable!! lol..(no see's candy? boo!)lol...
