Re: {SPAMFILTER} [RC] Leg confirmation and Heart - Long and SlightlyHumorous (how to pick a horse by heart) - Stagg_Newman

To support Heidi's view on the importance of the mare,
Drubin's mare also produced two other outstanding endurance horse, Ramegwa
Priceless,
Maggie Price's first top endurance horse (won Best Condition in Race of
Champions in mid-80s)
and Ramegwa Towana (aka Jet), arguably one of the best Ride and Tie horses
of all time
Won the Levi Ride and Tie 3 times in a row when that was the top Ride and
Tie competition in the world.

Kerry Ridgeway say Jet was one of the top horses that he had ever seen.

Super's sire is Zambizy with Bask and triple Comet further back on the
top
line.
Dam is Jayel Suprize.

Thank you, Stagg, for at least mentioning his dam. What Stagg failed to
mention is that Suprize is an extremely well-bred CMK mare who has the sort
of pedigree that is pretty consistent at endurance. Stagg's gelding Drubin
is likewise out of a very well-bred CMK mare whose pedigree is one that
would suggest a reasonable chance at success. Far too often we give the
sires the credit for the traits that were possessed by the mares. Where on
earth would Hyannis have been without old Razifa, who produced THREE of
their top contenders (Witezarif, El Karbaj, and Law Thunder, all by
different stallions), and whose daughters went on to found their endurance
breeding dynasty??
