RE: MCL Repair

I completely tore my acl playing soccer in Feb. this year. I had the acl
replaced with a donor ligament and they had to staple the mcl at the same
time. I had this done in March as I told the doctor that I had to be able
to ride a 50 at the Biltmore in May.
Well, I probably could have rode a 50 in May but unfortunately all my
horses came down with strangles and I ended up hobbling around a muddy barn
tending to sick horses instead.
Currently the knee I had repaired feels much better than my other knee. If
I could somehow convince my insurance to do my other knee I would.
But remember, for the entire operation to be a success you must do all the
excersises that your therapist prescribe and not over or under do them. To
do too much or too little are just as bad.

Good luck,
Suzanne

RE: MCL RepairHi Kathy: Am I to understand your ACL is still missing? =
Have you had it repaired? I'm a candidate in the near future for a knee =
and ACL which is also separated. Any info. available.
Thx. Steven

  I had my MCL stapled together along with an ACL arthroscopic cleanup. =
It ached more than the ACL injury while healing, but it's fine now. No =
problems at all. But my MCL was repairable and my ACL is totally =
missing. I'm sure it's different for everyone and how they got injured, =
though!

      Any of you riders out there ever had to have your MCL (knee) =
repaired? I'd=20
      like to hear from you as Hubby is having his done tomorrow. The =
waiting and=20
      healing is not working, and he is an avid rider as I am and he did =
the MCL=20
      in on our last day at the GMHA Fall Foliage Ride in September and =
hasn't=20
      been able to ride since. So to say the least, he is going insane. =
 The=20
      doctor says he should be back to normal in a couple of weeks, but =
not for=20
      horse back riding, which could be 6 weeks or more. So I'd like to =
hear from=20
      anyone who had this repair done and is riding now. Thanks,=20
