Re: mule saddle?

Horse saddles only work on mules for occasional or light weekend riders.
Once you begin to put in the miles necessary to condition and compete in
Endurance, horse saddles cause problems. If you are lucky you may be able
to get by with a production saddle made on a 'mule tree'. There are several
out there. (Circle Y, Wyoming Outdoors, DR Schrader, and others ....but no
one has endurance style saddles that I know of) Mule backs are each
different, just like horses, only their backs are very straight....... not
much wither. (Croupers are a must!!) Most horse saddles do not fit mules
very well at all. Marilyn Horstmeyer (Desoto Saddles) measured Rudy's back
at the Hahira ride and made a custom saddle for him. Rudy and I love
it!!!
Cindy
PS: Rudy is a QH mule and I know less than nothing about gaited mules. Good
Luck!!!!
