Also reminded me of Horse Owner's Feild Guide to Toxic Plants I have been
studying as we clear land for pasture.
Regarding onions in the "chive" stage.  Manual says poisoning occurs in the
spring in livestock, dogs and cats!  "The toxin in onions is N-propyl
disulfide, which is a potent oxidizer of hemoglobin in the red blood cells."
The list of poisoning signs looks similiar to those you mentioned.  Warning
does indicate "large quantities" and symptoms may not be noticed for days...
Alittle bit, 1/4 tsp, in daily supplement, total 1/2 tsp, of Source
Micronutrients, (sea kelp), ok?  Been doing this for years.
And, No DeeDee, you cannot have my garlic bread!!!:)
