Multi-day rides

So, I sit here thinking "Am I crazy, Outlaw trail, 5
days of riding in a row!"  Hoping I can get some good
information and advice as this is going to be my first
multi-day ride.  Does anyone know the normal age of a
horse asked to do this type of ride (I am taking a 9
year old)?  What are some of the common problems of a
multi-day ride on a horse?  You know, stuff that a
person that normally rides one day rides doesn't think
of.....
