Rocky's first 50 and Red's second 50!

Rusty and I had a wonderful time last weekend driving the 700 miles back up to the Reno area (only the third trip in four weeks!) to take on Rocky's first 50.

It was the most breathtaking ride I have done, and very challenging, with more than 10,000 feet of ascent and descent in the first 35 miles. It was much more challenging and technical (read rocky) than we had anticipated, but fun, nevertheless. We took the full twelve hours to complete, but the ponies were fantastic - and it was good for Rusty and me to enjoy our first competition together in two years! We also got to camp and hang out with Leslie Spitzer and Lucy Chaplin Trumbull: great fun.

I'll go back again once I am ready to take on that drive again - and assuming I have a fitter horse!

Jackie Bumgardner did an awesome job - this ride should be on your list of musts!

Lucie Chaplin Trumbull did a wonderful job of capturing much of the ride. Click on the arrow below for a taste of the Eastern High Sierras!
