Re: RC: Re: Stupid question

Hi Teddy
Two of our stallion's get that I know of have placed in the top three in
open shows in dressage--one is a 16 hand stallion called Halyswan who
was shown at the big dressage show in San Francisco; perhaps you know
Peter Haan? Anyway, he said the warmblood folks were laughing at his
Arab until he took third (his first show!). We were going to have
T-shirts out there with "Arab Blood is warm enough for me!" printed on
them. I know several other of Hal's get were purchased by dressage
people. If any of you are out there, please let me know how Halynov's
get are doing in dressage; I love that field, just don't have enough
time to devote to it.
Oh, also, on the jumper note, Hal's trainer was the Olympic rider for
Zimbabwe and was training Hal for the Olympics in Atlanta before Hal's
injury. He felt Hal had a good shot at it due to his 16.2 (yes, really,
Myrtle) size and athletic ability. Could you imagine what that would
have been like?! An English trainer on a Russian Arabian competing for
an African nation with American owners. Which country would have gotten
the medal??? Oh well. Some Arab some day will do it!

So don't let prejudices stop you, I also had no less than 20 people come up to me commenting on how well behaved and calm me "ARABS" are. Arabs can do anything you take the time to do on them...When my kids were 6 and 7 years old they won many hight point awards on their arabs and won 2nd at team penning, all against Q.H.'s people snickered untill they saw us work.
