This is a great idea! Let's hear it from the truly experienced ones.

I do all that too, plus I get out of the truck and walk around it one
last time when I get to the first stop sign, about half a mile from my
barn. That gives me a chance to see whether anything important "shook
loose" on the rutted dirt road.
