towing vehicles

Have been towing with Ford van with V8. Am looking for diesel van.. will probably have to order from a dealer.  Does anyone have any experience with a diesel van? Am sort of hooked on vans and have 150.000 on my 94(can haul 4 sq bales in the back-it is conversion -and can put 12 or so sacks of feed there so can still get feed when it is raining!!).  but have not done extensive towing.  Am planning to do more now and will be towing a 4 horse stock trailer... bumper pull.   Thanks for any input.
