Also, I forgot to mention, there is a difference in putting a horse down,
which I agree can be the humane thing to do in certain circumstances, and
shipping the horse to a slaughter facility.  Just as there is a difference
in gently and lovingly putting down one's dog who is irreversibly ill and in
pain--and dumping the same dog by the roadside.
