Re: Legacy by Nutrena Feed

A bit of history. Farr was originally a CO based independent feed
company. I
started using their feed in about 1992 after talking with their
nutritionist
at the FL state fair. About a year later they announced the introduction
of
Legacy. It was originally targeted for horses with heaves. Nutrena
bought
Far and the feed was not available for about two years. Then Nutrena
built a
big new mill in FL and the feed came back on the market in about 1996.

Legacy was introduced. Talking with the rep in this area it is clear
that they
didn't make the feed for endurance horses - they just stumbled into a
good
feed for endurance horses. According to the Nutrina rep in central FL,
it
takes a state of the art mill to produce a beet pulp based feed and FL
is the
only mill they have with this capability. He said they were working on
upgrading other mills. It is a pretty good feed product.

Unless they are producing it out west now, I would think it might be a
bit
expensive because of the transportation cost from FL.
