Re: RC: Re: LD, kids competing etc.

The Pittsburgh Pirates won the 1979 world series. Now who can tell me
who they played. The NY Yankees won the 1927 world series who can tell
me who they played. The 1954 NY Giants won the national league penant in
a sudden death playoff on a Bobby Thompson home run. Who did they beat?
In 1972 the Miami Dophins won the super bowl. Who did they play? Who
can name the NBA teams the Chicago Bulls beat in the NBA championship
series during the Jordan era? Get my drift. In this culture "winning
is not everything it is the only thing," to quote Vince Lombordi.

That's not good nor bad but a fact of life. If that's your goal in
endurance riding (or even LD riding) then more power to you and it's
really noone elses business. If it's not then the great thing about
this sport is it is still something for you.

So why don't we get off this bashing LD and bashing people that race for
first no matter what distance and talk about something more interesting.
