Re: Buying a horse/WARNING

At the risk of being flamed with the whole attorney thing again -- HOWARD
-- there can be a contract with NO exchange of money. Offer to sell,
plus acceptance to buy, plus "consideration" equals an enforceable
contract. Consideration can be money or items OR THE EXCHANGE OF
PROMISES. I'm not saying there was a contract in this case or that
anyone should sue. Because [1] my malpractice carrier would have a FIT
if it thought I was giving legal advise through e-mail without knowing
all of the facts; and [2] the e-mail really didn't give enough facts to
say that; and [3] I think most times situations like this are a real pain
and can be very painful and a lawsuit doesn't cure or compensate for
that.
