Re: hybrid hay (World Feeder Hay)

We have a nice crop of Coastal Bermuda, however, just heard about this World
Feeder Hay that sounded wonderful. It is supposed to be drought resistant
and
freeze resistant. You only have to feed hay a few weeks out of the year.
We
thought, as we get older, it would eliminate us having to handle so many
bales of
hay. Also you aren't supposed to have to feed supplements.

I quote, "If it sounds to good to be true, it probably is." Ag Agent said
this
company won't even let them have any info on this hay to study it. Company
has
a patent on hay. People have to sign a contract outlining where on their
property they plan to plant the sprigs. They cannot sell their own sprigs,
also
cannot transplant their sprigs to another section of their own property!!

We dediced not to plant this stuff. Then got a long email from someone who
has
planted this stuff, only to find out it did not grow for them. They had
plowed
under a beautiful Coastal field, too. They say they are thousands of
dollars
behind and years behind in getting their fields back to where they were
before
they started this. Wow! Did we make the right decision.
